Fairy Tales Film Festival is starting on the 26th! Agh! There're two films and a collection of shorts that I really want to see, but I can't watch the shorts cuz of work and I shouldn't watch the films because I'll be up late on a work night. But you know what? Screw that. I'll just be tired.
So, I'll probably see Whole New Thing on the 27th, starting at 7pm. I saw a little interview thing with one of the actors a while ago and it looked really interesting. Also on my must must MUST see list is The Journey, which is on the 28th also starting at seven. Yay for subtitles.
But I'm like, triple booked on the 27th- there's a band at the lilac festival starting at six, the movie starting at seven, and a dance starting at nine. And I don't get off work 'till five. I *think* I may be able to do all three, but I won't be able to stay at the lilac fest for long. I'll probably get there around 6, hang for half an hour or so, then boot it down to the Uptown Thearter for the movie, which is about an hour and a half long, which leaves me half an hour to get to swing on time. That'll also mean an aweful lot of wandering around downtown by myself. Good thing it stays light until fairly late.
Anyone wanna come with?
Bah. I thought the lilac festival was this weekend. Oh, how wrong I was.
Also need to come up with something to say to my aunt when I tell her I'll be out late on Sunday night. Somehow "I'm going to a gay/lesbian film festival" doesn't sound quite right, considering how she's a fairly observant Catholic. Sigh. Maybe I'll just say I'm going to a movie. A romantic movie. That should do it.
Gah! Why can't stuff be going on this weekend instead? Although I am starting work this weekend, but still. It'd be nice to space it out a bit.
But to the Calgarians on my f'list! Let's meet up and go dancing/movie watching!
