God of Small Things

girlnamedxenaIs totally what I should be reading right now. My cliché fantasy story is taking over my life.
In other news, I was pondering the miracle that is computers. Sure we complain about how they don't work, and occasionally they eat our projects, but seriously, they're amazing. How can something the size of a medium textbook do all that? It can hold writing, music and give you access to the internet and therefore the world. It shows pictures, stories, articles, other people's blogs. When Edgar is in my lap I'm not just holding a little black box, I'm holding the world. Or all of the information in the world.
So here is my ode to computers (which I'm making up on the spot).
Roses are red, violets are blue
dear computers, how I love and hate you!
Daffodils are yellow, lilies are white
you hold all the secrets and passions of my life.
K, I'm just going to stop now because this is getting painful. And I'm perfectly aware that White and Life don't rhyme.
Now here's a meme I stole from wildknight_20
Leave a list of fictional characters in your journal that you would love to get a message from. It is your friend-list's mission, should they choose to accept it, to write you an in-character "letter" from a character on that list. Then they post their own list in their journal and the process continues!

Wow. this was a long entry. It should probably be behind a cut, but since rich text doesn't work on the browser I'm using and I'm not very good at coding I didn't. No one reads behind cuts half the time anyway. And I've really got to start reading. I've wasted half of my break and the only useful thing I've done was edit my Gulliver's Travels essay. Which still kind of sucks, but it's not as bad as the Candide one, so that's a good thing. Anyway, signing off now. And do the meme! Janine and Sade, you could use this for your 300 words (or part of it).

Last night as I sat gazing into the misty depths of my orb, the mist cleared and I saw a figure of yourself haunted by the gravest of evil portents. The Grim! I know that this will strike terror into your very being, so I would be more then happy to do a further, in-depth, reading for you, over some earl grey, after you have had some chance to accept the hopelessness of your situation.
