Can I has a snow day?

Ok, when I made my first post this morning I didn't realize just how much snow there was outside. So I'm making another post! Sorry for spamming you guys, but I think this is really, really cool.
About half an hour before I had to leave for school I decided I should probably shovel the walk, despite the fact it was (and still is) snowing like Satan's dandruff. So I shoveled the walk, but by the time I was done there was already a thin layer of snow on the part of the walk that I shoveled first. Sigh. Also, when I was in the middle of shoveling I heard this crack and turned around to see a big branch from the tree in my front yard falling to the ground. I had been shoveling in that particular spot less than five minutes ago. I dragged the branch into the yard so it wouldn't block the sidewalk. It wasn't that heavy, so it probably wouldn't have damaged me in a severe way if it had fallen on me, but I'm still glad I wasn't under it.
Then I decided to document this event, because the last time we had this much snow was in jr. high, and my friend Michaela got stuck at my house for the weekend. Anyway, in conclusion, it's been a while since we had this much snow.
EDIT: (11:55) oh noes! It's slowing down D:

Behold, this was taken at around 10:30 this morning:

It was about this time that I decided going to school would be totally pointless. The roads will be terrible, the buses will probably be running late and no one else in their right mind would bother going in today either, so that's when I decided to build a snowman. The snow wasn't co-operating (I think it was too deep) so I made a fort instead:

And since the fort is kind of hard to see I've outlined it:

Those colours you see are not, unfortunately, the blood of my fallen enemies. Rather it was my attempt to decorate using food colouring. I used up pretty much all of the blue, and if/when my mom finds out she will not be pleased >.> but we never use food colouring for anything anyway. Here's a close up of the fort wall:

I didn't measure the fort, but I'm pretty sure the walls are about two feet tall. Tall enough I had to go in and out through the entrance rather than step over the wall. This is totally the best snow fort I've ever made in my entire life. And I could've made it bigger but I was tired and soaking wet. I stopped building because I ran out of steam, not because I ran out of snow.
And lastly, poor Pepin is not enjoying the weather nearly as much as I am:

And one more picture, taken at 11:30am

Hee hee! Once I've warmed up I'm gonna go frolic some more. Anyone wanna have a snowball fight?
(homework? What homework? >.>)
