So, I'm on the Misc Youth Network mailing list now. These are the folks who put on fake moustache. They must have added me after I emailed them looking for photographic evidence of Janine's birthday song >:D. Anyway, this morning I recieved
I don't think I really count as a youth anymore (adult now, 'tis sad) but if there's anyone on my f'list who's interested let me know and I can forward you the email. It sounds vaguely interesting, although I'm kind of weary of going to random camps I know nothing about after the whole cult camp incident. Anyway. Just thought I'd pass this along
Camp fYrefly is Canada's largest leadership retreat for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified, two-spirited, queer, and allied (LGBTTQ&A) youth. The camp, which was founded in 2004 by Dr. André P. Grace and Mr. Kristopher Wells,
is designed to help youth develop the leadership skills and resiliency necessary for them to become change agents in their schools, families, and communities.
All of the camp workshops and guest speakers help youth to develop their very own fYrefly fuel designed to help them keep their inner light shining bright during dark times.
Camp fYrefly participants vow to help fight against discrimination, prejudice,
and oppression in all of its many forms, and to help others in their time of
greatest need.

Camp is scheduled for August 2-5th
Miscellaneous Youth Network would like to get at least four youth there. We operate on a first come first serve basis. If you or someone you know would like to attend please send an e-mail miscyouthnetwork@gmail.com subject: fYrefly
Attached is the application for the camp. You can print it off and fill it out on your own and we will make sure your way is paid and you have a ride up!
