Dec. 20th, 2006 10:40 pmI just spent an hour watching Bert and Ernie clips on youtube. I looooooove Bert and Ernie. They were the only reason why I watched Seaseme Street (I horribly misspelled that, apologies) as a kid.
And the fun part? They totally, TOTALLY remind me of me and Janine. "Hey, hey Bert! Hey Bert! Lookit this! Hey Bert, you're not looking. Bert! Bert! Guess what, Bert, you're it, Bert. Bert's it!"
Anyway, it's not like I was totally wasting time. I was working on my rope too. I've figured out the pattern, but now I'm working on getting the tension right so we'll see how that goes.
Anyway, I should go to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow to do baking, then I'm going to Cochrane to see some Shaman healer guy and get healed, and apparently he'll tell me what my spirit animal is. Like I don't know that already. Anyway, my dad's girlfriend's daughter was gonna go see him, but her plane was delayed so she's not going to be able to make it, but since the session is already paid for and can't be refunded my dad's girlfriend said I could go instead. My brother thinks the whole spiritual healing thing is total bull, which, depending on the circumstance, I may agree with. But hey, it's free.
Anyway, last time I got something like that done (reki) it was nice and the healer people seemed to know some stuff, like they spent more time on my right arm then my left (it has worse tendonitis) and pulled back from my badly bruised knee like it hurt them to touch it, then went back more cautiously. Anyway, it can't hurt, right? So I'll let you all know what my spirit animal is afterwards.
I dunno. I don't really get why people are so into having invisible spirit companions. And I'm not aiming this at a particular group/belief system. Hey, I've done that too. I just find it interesting how so many different people from different backrounds and societies (and societies as a whole) believe themselves to be connected spiritually with a certain animal. I wonder why that is? You see it all the time in books (especially fantasy) where there are helpful animal comapanions (Pierce, Lackey, wossface Eragon guy, Pullman). It's interesting. Also begs the question if animals have totems/daemons/guiding spirits ect. and if animals have them, does that mean they can take the form of humans?
Anyway, it's late, I'm getting rambly and philosophical. I should really go to sleep now.
